President
Nicola, President and founding partner of Propulsion, played nearly a decade of professional hockey, building a career defined by discipline, resilience, and elite performance.
Selected in the first round of the 2005 QMJHL Entry Draft by the Moncton Wildcats, Nicola developed into one of the league’s premier goaltenders, leading the Wildcats to a QMJHL Championship in 2010. During the 2008–2009 season, he was named QMJHL MVP, becoming the first goaltender to earn the award since 2000, and still holds the single season record for save percentage (.931) and goals against average (2.01).
Drafted in the 5th round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers, Nicola signed his first professional contract and went on to compete across North America and Europe, including time within the Tampa Bay Lightning organization and training camps with the Montreal Canadiens and New York Islanders.
With more than 300 professional games played, Nicola brings firsthand knowledge of the game at every level. At Propulsion, he leads player development and plays a central role in contract negotiations, offering a strategic perspective shaped by lived experience at the highest levels of the sport.
